When the last bell rings on the final day of school, many Stillwater students will begin the long, boring days of summer. But for the students who volunteer with the Stillwater Medical Center Junior Volunteer Program, their summer will be filled with rewarding experiences they will never forget.
The Junior Volunteer Program has been around for several decades, helping hospital patients and giving volunteers memories that last a lifetime. Volunteers have to go through an application process, but the most important qualification can’t always be found on paper.
“They’ve got to have a good heart and care about people,” said Lisa Eckels, the Director of Volunteer Services at SMC.
